1938 Interesting photograph of the men whose job it was to clean the nasty sewers of New York City as they performed their unenviable job with smiles on their faces. Just feet above the men, the bustling life of New Yorkers goes on as usual, but down here, it was all business. A powerful work of imagery, the photo was issued by Acme and stamped on the back with a nice paper caption as well. The photo has a crease that has broken the paper a bit on the upper left but it actually blends in with the image and is tough to see.
