1920 Unique photograph of umpires and managers conferring before the start of a game between the Parkesburg Iron Works team and the famous Hilldale Daisies of the Negro Leagues. The Hilldale manager (Bill Harris) was so tiny that you can only see some of his legs and the top of his cap in the photo, but he is in there as well as the two umpires and the player/manager from Parkesburg. A unique new discovery from an album which have removed 3-4 images and sold in the past, including a photograph of Francis for provenance. There is a small paper caption and a handwritten note on the back cementing the fact that this was indeed the important game against the Hilldale Negro League club! Condition and quality are both outstanding!
