Few people realize that the list of teams Babe Ruth played for as a hitter includes the New York Giants! On October 3, 1923 Ruth suited up for the cross-town rivals (and the team that beat him in two consecutive World Series) in a game against the Baltimore Orioles to benefit the family of former Giants owner John Day. Photographer George Grantham Bain was not about to let a great photo-op go to waste and he gathered Ruth and Giants star Jack Bentley to pose for this amazing image together along with Jack Dunn who discovered Ruth! One of the only examples of Ruth in a Giants uniform, this is a beautiful example from the Keystone View Company that is being offered here for the first time ever and comes encapsulated by PSA (Type 1). The photo has a crease and some pinholes from editorial use but it looks much better than the technical grade.
