Lot Description  

1916 Large action photograph from the crucial third game of the World Series between the Boston Red Sox and the Brooklyn Dodgers and showing Chick Shorten of the Red Sox being caught stealing. The umpire has his fist in the air signaling "out" as the two players both lay on the ground after a collision. A rare image in great shape, this is one of the few action photographs from this famous series in this large format we have ever seen.
