The first game that Ken Griffey Jr. and Ken Griffey Sr. played together for the Seattle Mariners was on August 31st, 1990. The night before, the elder Griffey was in uniform on the bench with his son and the two refused to be pictured together until the news conference the next day. This photograph illustrates this weird event and is the only photograph of them from the August 30th game that we have ever seen. It captures the Griffey's with a large gap between them, but still having a conversation on the Mariners bench.
