1956 Batting photograph of the great Yankees Slugger Mickey Mantle during Spring Training. This is from the photo shoot that was used to make his 1958 Topps All Star baseball card! The Yankees took a photo of Mantle batting from each side of the plate, seconds apart, and Topps chose the right handed image for the card. This however is only the second left handed example from this shoot we have ever offered and it is a far superior example as to condition and quality. Images of Mantle that were used to make his baseball cards or from the documented photo-shoots are EXTREMELY rare with this being one of his most iconic batting photos ever taken. Stamped on the back as coming directly from the Yankees, this is a vintage photograph off the original negative in great shape!
