1916 Huge cabinet photograph of the entire Chicago White Sox squad of spring training hopefuls in Texas. The team was on the rise at this point and would win the World Series the next season, 1917, and of course be involved in the greatest scandal in baseball history a few years later in 1919. Half the squad is wearing their home white jerseys while half is pictured in the road dark jerseys, possibly because of an inter-squad game on this day. We can easily spot most of the famed Chicago "Black Sox" players but it appears Joe Jackson was absent on this day, possibly a hold out for a bigger contract. A large work of baseball photography, this is likely unique with the 1916 date on the front added by the original owner (possibly a player). The photo portion is perfect with the cardboard mount having some handling wear from age and pinholes from display. All things considered, this is one of the finest team photographs from the WWI era we have ever handled!
