Large c. 1930 photograph of artist Gutzon Borglum as he oversees the carving of Thomas Jefferson's eye as it takes shape in the black mountains. It was part of his newest sculpture that would dominate America, Mt. Rushmore. A bold and incredible image in great shape that is the first of this example we have ever seen.
