In the months after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, it was feared by residents of Hawaii that the December 7 attack was just an opening act and bomb shelters were being built on a massive scale. Here, in April of the next year, a beautiful young lady posed inside one of the shelters that had just been completed in Honolulu and the paper caption notes it was for the "next" attack. A poignant reminder of the tensions of the time, this was issued by Acme and with a full paper caption on the back.
