Large 1926 action photograph of Hall of Famer Grover Cleveland Alexander in his final season with the Chicago Cubs and warming up before his first start of the season. He would be traded to the St. Louis Cardinals near the end of the season and it was assumed he was done, but in the World Series he would provide one of the most famous moments in the history of the game by striking out Tony Lazzeri to preserve the win for the Red Birds. Issued by the International News and stamped on the back, this is a high grade example of this famous image.
