On the short list of the greatest singers of all time is Jazz icon Billie Holiday. Despite being black and a woman during a time when both were obstacles, nothing held her back and she is as relevant and important today as she was seventy years ago. Despite her fame, images of Holiday are extremely rare with this being one of the only original examples we have ever seen or offered publicly. This is one of only three image we have handled that shows the singer belting out lyrics and it comes stamped on the back by photographer Maurey Garber. One of the finest images of Holiday that exists and offered here for the first time ever, fresh out of a newspaper archive.
