Original c. 1943 photograph of young baseball star from the Monterrey, Mexico team named Roy Campanella posing for the camera and all smiles! He would of course be playing in the major leagues five years later and in the process changing the position of catcher forever. This photo was re-issued in the late 1950's but it is still one of the only examples of Campanella in the Mexican League we have ever seen! A fantastic pre-rookie image of one of baseball's most important players ever!
