1935 Large action photograph of Augie Galan from the Chicago Cubs as he slides into third safely at Wrigley Field in Chicago. While at first glance this seems like one of a thousand early big league action photographs, it has much deeper importance to the history of the game. This would be the 16th consecutive win for the Cubs who would eventually take 21 straight before suffering a loss. While technically the longest streak in baseball belongs to the 1916 Giants, they suffered a tie in the middle of their 26 game winning streak so many believe this Cubs streak to be the longest in big league history. A bold and sweeping image in great shape, issued by Underwood and Underwood and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well.
