Large 1914 action photograph of Ty Cobb showing off his baserunning skills and raw intensity as he avoids a tag at home and slides dramatically across the plate to score a run. One of his better action photographs we have ever handled, this is a likely unique piece of baseball history that exhibits exceptional quality considering the camera equipment that was available at the time. The photo has a corner clip from editorial use (not damaged) and is otherwise in great shape. The photo is authenticated PSA and comes with a LOA identifying it as a Type 1 which is a nice addition. A fantastic image of one of the greatest athletes of all time, showing off the skills that made him famous. For Cobb collectors, these baserunning shots are what is wanted, just like Ruth hitting a homer etc. One of his best for sure.
