In the various battles for the Pacific during WWII, war was ugly! The Japanese would hide for days, waiting to set traps or commit suicide which prompted a new style of warfare, flamethrowers. American troops would shoot fire into the holes where the soldiers were suspected of hiding and flush them out in the worst possible way. Here, likely in 1944-45, Americans are using their new weapon while others are waiting for the men to run from the foxholes and shoot them. A dramatic piece of WWII photography in great shape that is the only example we have ever seen! It is impossible to know the exact vintage of this print, but we feel it dates to about the 1950's.
