1917 Large photograph of young Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, in one of his first official government roles. It would be fifteen years before he would become President and this is one of his earliest images we have ever seen! Issued by the famous Harris and Ewing studio and is stamped on the back by the Central Press as well. The photo has pinholes at the corners and a crease at the bottom but looks much better than the technical grade.
