1990 Vintage photograph of a kid in Massachusetts that claimed to have found a T206 Honus Wagner baseball card while digging for worms. While the story was clearly a stretch, it was quickly carried by national media. We remember when the event happened (we actually lived in Maine at the time) and spent considerable time pondering this story and wondering what the real story was here. Regardless of the outcome, the incident has gone down in history as the first to attempt to pass off a fake baseball card into the industry.
