1915 Photograph of young superstar Grover Cleveland Alexander of the Phillies as he took the hapless club, almost single handedly, to the World Series against the Boston Red Sox. Posed with his opponent before the start of the first game, Ernie Shore, Alexander looks happy and full of life; both attributes would fade after his service during WWI. The photo is clear and bold with exceptional clarity, displaying in nice shape overall with some light creasing and handling wear from news room use and some editorial marks over the figure of Alexander from artistic use. One of the better images from the height of Alexander's career that we have ever offered and stamped on the back!
