The final out of the World Series of 1926 was made when Babe Ruth inexplicably tried to steal second base against the Cardinals. He did not need to do it, but he tried anyways and it was a disaster. While the play was dumb and controversial, it fueled him to work harder and his ultimate monster success of 1927 and 1928 can be attributed partially to this play, pictured here in an extremely rare photograph. One of the most talked about plays of the decade, this is a vintage image that captures the moment, issued by NEA and stamped on the back. Photo has a crease on the lower right and some handling wear, but it presents well and comes with a full letter from PSA (Type 3).
