After his first season in New York as a member of the Yankees, young Babe Ruth took a trip to Cuba. He visited the island from October 30 - November 20 to play baseball but and among other activities, he learned to play the game of Jai-Alai. Ruth would play ball and have an epic showdown with Cristobal Torriente, but this image captures him playing the new game he learned on the island. Posed with four other men and looking young and trim, this is the only image from Ruth's 1920 barnstorming trip we have ever seen. The image portion is beautiful and perfect with a small spot of damage on the far left from handling. One of the better 1920 Ruth images we have handled in a while and the first from his famous trip to Cuba.
