1943 Portrait photograph of young superstar Stan Musial of the Cardinals. He had just come off his breakout year, winning the batting title and dominating the National League, and now was preparing for the Yankees in the World Series. Detailed and bold, this is one of the best Musial images we have seen and it is concretely dated to 1943. Issued by Acme and with a light but visible original stamp (faint red ink) as well as part of the original paper caption that has been taped to the back. The photo is nearly perfect with one small stain and some faint wear on the right side, mentioned only for accuracy as it has the look and feel of a nearly perfect specimen.
