Lot Description  

Incredible 1927 photograph of the pitching staff of the famed "Murderers Row" New York Yankees. Better known for their hitters like Ruth and Gehrig, the pitching staff were the unsung heroes of the 1927 Yankees. Led by Hall of Famers Waite Hoyt and Herb Pennock the staff also featured Bob Shawkey, Joe Giard, Myles Thomas, Urban Shocker, Wilcy Moore, Don Miller, Dutch Reuther, and George Pipgras. One of the only images we have ever seen of the 1927 staff and one that is sure to excite even the casual fan of baseball photography!
