1924 Portrait photograph of pitcher Joe Pate in uniform with the Ft. Worth baseball club. In 1926 he would get the call up to the big leagues and start about as good as anyone in big league history, going 9-0 and with an ERA of 2.71. It seemed he was a rising star in the game, but he imploded the next year and faded off into obscurity. A rare player to find images of with this being the best we have ever seen, the photo is crystal clear but does have some creasing from editorial use.
