One of the most underrated specialty photographers of the 1910's was J.R. Schmidt of Cincinnati. He took the images of the Cincinnati Reds for years and would often take pictures of visiting players including the Black Sox during the World Series of 1919. The offered portrait photograph from 1920 pictures Lynn Brenton obscure Reds pitcher in full uniform. Just as exciting as the subject though is the AUTOGRAPH of photographer Schmidt on the back above his stamp making this one of the only signed examples of his photography we have seen and the quality/condition are beautiful.
