Interesting and poignant 1941 portrait photograph of famous general George S. Patton Jr. The caption on the back notes that the purpose of this image was for Patton to model the new helmet style adopted by the military, but in reality it was to show the public that we had our man, he was training, and he was ready for anything to happen. Dated almost exactly one month before Pearl Harbor, Patton would have little time to rest after this image was taken and would soon be putting those maneuvers he was working on into actual battle. A thought provoking and foreshadowing image that is among the finest of Patton we have ever handled. Issued by Acme and with a large paper caption on the back.
