Rare 1911 photograph of racer Ralph Mulford crossing the finish line as the winner of the Vanderbilt Cup which was the top race of the era. He would compete in the first Indianapolis 500 as well, finishing second, but there is actually an urban legend out there that he won and was shafted out of the title! A rare image from one of the earliest racing legends of the 20th century!
