Frank Wykoff would go down in history as one of the greatest track stars of the pre-war era but in this photograph, dated 1927, the 16 year old high school sensation is seen setting a new scholastic record of 9.8 seconds in the 100 yard dash. Issued by Wide World Photos and with a full paper caption on the back, this is by far his earliest image we have ever seen and it is being offered here for the first time ever, fresh out of a newspaper archive!
