Beautiful c. 1890 cabinet photograph of baseball pioneer and early star of the Boston Red Stockings, John Morrill. He was a really good player and bridged the gap between the earliest days of amateur baseball to the 1890's when the game became more established. Taken at the end of his career as he was transitioning to a position at the Reach Sporting Goods Company, this is one of the few vintage pieces of his we have ever seen!
