1919 Unique composite photograph from the fight between Jack Dempsey and Jess Willard with small headshots mounted over a photo of the stadium. What makes this piece extremely important is the reverse. The artists at this newspaper in 1919 re-used a work of cartoon art from the Willard v. Jack Johnson fight! While it is a tragedy that the cartoon is incomplete, it is also fortunate that the piece was saved at all! A cartoon likeness of Jack Johnson is clearly the focal point and shows him on the ground, floored by Willard! An incredible piece of boxing history.
