Most people think there was a large break between WWI and WWII and there was if you lived in America. For the German people, however, WWI really never ended. The restrictions placed after the end of WWI put so much pressure on the Germans that they immediately began sewing the seeds of rebellion that led to the birth of Hitler and the Nazis. Here in 1923 we see political upheaval in the streets of Berlin as 200,000 people gathered to protest. A rare piece of history and it is amazing to think that somewhere in this demonstration was young socialist Adolf Hitler! Photo presents beautifully with some chipping from editorial use.
