Lot Description  

1947 Photograph of the first home run of the historic season for the Brooklyn Dodgers as Spider Jorgenson comes to the plate and is congratulated by Pee Wee Reese. Two days earlier, Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier on this very field! Issued by the International News and stamped on the back with a full paper caption, this is the work of photographer High Broderick.
