Moe Berg is one of the most interesting men in sports history. Entire books have been written about the catcher that could speak a dozen languages and was a spy for America during WWII. We can not do his accomplishments justice here, but suffice it to say that he was awesome! Images of Berg from his playing career however are rare as his exploits of the field were unknown to sports writers and photographers. Of the few we have handled, this might be the best as it is a clear, double weight masterpiece from George Burke that was used to make one of his most beautiful baseball cards (1934-36 Batter Up). This is the only example of this photograph we have ever handled and aside from some scrapbook paper on the back, it presents beautifully!
