The 1924 World Series would go down in history as one of the greatest and most well remembered in the history of the game. John McGraw was back for the fourth straight year while his opponents were the unlikely Senators making their first trip to the big show ever. The managers could not have been more opposite at their respective stages of their careers as well. John McGraw was the grand old man of the game while Bucky Harris was the kid sensation. They had similar rough and tumble styles however and the series would play out like a mystery novel with twists and turns, going the full seven games before the upstart Senators would take it in dramatic fashion. The offered image from Underwood and Underwood captures Bucky Harris as he has come over to the Giants dugout to shake hands with McGraw before the start of the battle. The bats are laid out and all that remained are the games themselves. An important image in fine condition overall from one of the greatest fall classics ever!
