1912 Was quite a year for the Boston Red Sox! They christened a new ballpark called Fenway Park and then rode the wave of excitement all the way to victory in the World Series. Here we see a packed crowd at the World Series in the new stadium, with the green paint barely dry on the brand new outfield walls! A double weight image that presents beautifully with crystal clarity, this was issued by Underwood and Underwood with a secondary date stamp as well from the Central Press. There are a few pinholes from editorial use that are hidden in the sea of people and the photo presents like a perfect specimen until it is held to the light. There are pennants and scorecards easily visible in what we have to say is one of the clearest and most concise fan shots we have ever seen. The camera has even caught one fan forever caught picking his nose! A fantastic piece of important baseball photography offered here for the first time ever, fresh out of a newspaper archive!
