Less than a month after D-Day, the American forces continued inland to push the Nazi's into retreat. One of the more important engagements of this push to end the war took place in Cherbourg, France which is where this photograph was taken by well known photographer Bert Brandt from Acme. Stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well, this is a beautiful piece of WWII history!
