Important 1916 photograph of the first ever "battleplane" that was designed for WWI and unveiled here for the first time. Sporting five bombs and a huge machine gun on the front, the plane was being touted as the future of warfare in hopes the United States would adopt the design for WWI. In the cockpit is the designer Mr. A.S. Heinrich and his wife who was manning the machine gun! Issued by Underwood and Underwood and stamped on the back with a full paper caption, this is a powerful and important piece of aerial history!
