In 1951 Marilyn Monroe attended a party in Hollywood and wore a revealing low cut dress. A jealous female reporter went on to write a story about how vulgar the actress was and was essentially calling her a slut saying "She would have looked better in a potato sack." Realizing a publicity opportunity, her studio quickly arranged a photo-shoot in an actual potato sack dress, and she looked amazing! Images from this shoot are rare and among the most sought after of all Monroe images with this one being the only example from the original negative we have ever seen. Crystal clear and bold, this appears to be an ever so slight restrike, perhaps from the mid 1960's shortly after Monroe's death, but it has the look and feel of a vantage 1951 example!
