While the name DeHart Hubbard does not strike the same emotion as "Jackie Robinson" or "Tiger Woods", it should! He was a ground breaking black athlete and the first to ever win an Olympic Gold Medal! The offered important photograph shows Hubbard as he flies through the air in the running long jump. Dated on the back from 1922, the image is a wonderful piece of photography considering the equipment of the day. Issued by the Keystone View Company, images of Hubbard are very rare and this is one of his finest we have ever seen. Photo has some creasing and pinholes from editorial use.
