By 1919 Jack Dempsey had solidified himself as one of the top young fighters in the world and his bout with Jess Willard in Toledo was a huge attraction. They constructed a massive stadium for the event and anticipated hundreds of thousands of spectators. Here, before the fight would take place, the young challenger Dempsey was inspecting the makeshift stadium in Toledo at Bayview Park. A unique new discovery that is being offered here for the first time ever, this is stamped on the back by NEA with the important date as well. One of earliest and best images of Dempsey from before he became the champion that we have ever seen!
