Original c. 1915 double-weight studio photograph of boxing icon John L. Sullivan. Taken by the noted Underwood & Underwood, this is one of only a handful of photographs we have ever seen depicting Sullivan after his boxing career had ended. Looking extremely well dressed (almost aristocratic) he was not long for the world when this was taken as he would pass away in 1918. Possibly one of the last images of the great fighter ever taken, this is a double weight high grade image that presents well with note to some editorial painting and pinholes from publication.
