Baseball cards are big business, but in 1960 they were the play things of small boys with a cool history. Rarely ever were the cards subjects of photographs unless they were part of massive window displays and any vintage photo of cards and collectors are extremely rare. This one not only captures cards, but the boy who hoarded them and contains a small newspaper story about his quest for the cardboard! Pictured among his massive armful of cards from the current Topps set at the time (1960) is a Willie Mays looking right back at the camera, most likely positioned there on purpose as he was the top all around player in the game. A unique piece of baseball card history, this also contains the newspaper photo and story glued to the back with the date which is a nice touch!
