1921 Photograph of rare Chicago White Sox infielder Maurice Archdeacon and taken two years before his major league debut (1923) and in uniform with Rochester. A tough guy to figure out, Archdeacon hit a robust .402 and .319 in his first two seasons in the league and was one of the fastest players in the game seeming to indicate a long career ahead. He instead only played in 10 games in 1926 and was released, never to again play in the major leagues! A tough player to find images of, this is a clear and bold example with condition issues from editorial use.
