Rare portrait photo of Boston Braves pitcher Paul Strand in full uniform from 1914. As part of the famous "Miracle Braves" that won the World Series this year, Strand is forever linked to an important part of baseball history. Arm problems forced him out of the game but like Babe Ruth and Joe Wood before him, he reinvented himself and surfaced ten years later as an outfielder in 1924! Taken by noted photographer Charles Conlon, the image lacks his identification but is clearly off the original negative and was stamped later by Keystone. This is a clear and beautiful image with note to some pinholes and a crease on the left side from artistic use in a newspaper.
