1910's Large silver gelatin portrait photo of one of the most successful managers in baseball history, Jake Atz. A former major leaguer from 1902-09 he was also a famous minor league player before turning to managing. He won seven consecutive titles in the Texas League for Ft. Worth and has become a cult figure. One of the greatest photos of Atz that exists, this is crystal clear and large showing him in full uniform and leaning out of the dugout to give instruction to his squad. An impressive early image, glued to thicker board for publication and pulled directly from a Texas archive, offered here for the first time ever!
