1944 Photograph of Tony Mullane who was one of the greatest pitchers in baseball during the 1880's, shown at a Chicago Old Timers game along with current pitcher Ira Hutchinson and showing off his pitching hand. Mullane retired near the turn of the century to become a police officer and essentially disappeared. In fact, no autographs were even known of him until his grand daughter died around 2005! This is the only photograph of Mullane we have ever seen in any form from after his playing days and it was taken only two months before he would die in April of 1944! Issued by Acme and stamped on the back with a full paper caption, this is a cool memento from a future Hall of Famer and one of the best pitchers of the 19th century.
