Incredible original 1910 glass plate negative of Hall of Famer Cy Young pitching at Hilltop Park in New York as a member of the Cleveland Indians. Taken by famous photographer Charles Conlon, the photo comes with most of the original paper sleeve with his handwriting and despite the plate being cracked, it displays quite well and can be repaired. Glass plates from Conlon, especially his larger examples from the 1910 era, are extremely rare in the hobby as the vast majority were housed in the archives of the Sporting News and subsequently sold as an entire archive. Very few have ever hit the open market and this is one of the most significant names that has ever been offered for sale publicly. Despite the condition issue, the rarity and significance of this piece can not be overstated!
