Incredible 1910's photograph of convict laborers in Florida working on a chain gang in classic striped uniforms. Most of these men were probably innocent and arrested to meet the labor supply needed at the time. There is an incredible paper caption on the back that talks of a young man who was visiting Florida and arrested for "stealing a ride" then killed as a member of the chain gang. Issued by the Keystone View Company and in nice shape overall with some pinholes being the only flaws. An incredible piece of visual history from one of the darkest chapters of American days gone by.
