1945 Photograph of a Native American in full costume as the mascot of the Washington Redskins football team. Pictured on the field along with others in costume, the man was in attendance for the championship battle between the Redskins and the Cleveland Rams. Snow blanketed the field a and freezing temperatures put a damper on the game and the fortunes of the Washington club as they fell 15-14. A powerful image considering the team has just abandoned their nickname to be politically correct, making this a special piece of history.
