Baseball is filled with documented tales of hard work and success, but for every guy who made it, there are bunch of Fred McDonald's out there. Good players who were given a shot at a major league roster, and just did not quite make the cut. He played in the Texas League after WWI and had a shot during spring training with the Boston Braves, where he is pictured here, but history does not document the life of Fred after this lone picture was taken. Devastated by being cut, he quit the game and disappeared with this being the only known photograph of the player. A unique new discovery offered here for the first time ever from the files of NEA.
