1945 Poignant photo of Japanese prisoners from the bloody battle of Okinawa being herded into a makeshift camp to be corraled for safety during the waning moments of the battle, and of WWII. The men are strip searched to make sure weapons are not smuggled in. The Japanese loathed the idea of being taken prisoner as not honorable so any image of them capitulating to this state from WWII are extremely rare with this being one of the best we have handled. Photo is in pretty nice shape and it has a large newspaper photograph on the back from when it was used in publication.
